NEW CAR SALES IN KAZAKHSTAN INCREASED BY 35.9% IN APRIL

The top 5 car brands in April: Hyundai, Chevrolet, Kia, Chery, Jetour
According to the data from Kazakhstan Automobile Union (KAU), 19,247 passenger cars and commercial vehicles were sold in April 2025, representing a 35.9% increase compared to the same month last year. Since the beginning of the year, official dealerships have sold 66,090 vehicles, compared to 53,605 units over the same period in 2024 (+23.3%).
Anar Makasheva, President of the Kazakhstan Automobile Union (KAU):
“The growth in sales is accompanied by the strengthening of Kazakhstan's domestic automotive production: in April, their share reached 64.61%. This demand distribution clearly indicates that domestically produced cars — with their diverse model range — are meeting consumer expectations in terms of quality, pricing, and after-sales service. Joint initiatives between dealerships and financial institutions continue to enhance the accessibility of new vehicles for a wider audience. Overall, the desire of Kazakhstan citizens to buy modern and technologically advanced models, combined with active advertising campaigns by major car retailers, is driving fleet renewal and contributing to the sustainable development of the automotive industry.”
The top 10 best-selling cars remain virtually unchanged, with Hyundai leading the way (4,393 units; +44.4% compared to April last year).
