NEW CAR SALES IN KAZAKHSTAN IN JANUARY 2025

Top 5 brands in January: Hyundai, Chevrolet, Kia, Chery, Geely
According to the Kazakhstan Automobile Union (KAU), 11,252 passenger cars and commercial vehicles were sold in January 2025 - a slight increase of 0.1% compared to the same month last year. January traditionally sees the lowest monthly sales figures of the year.
Anar Makasheva, President of the Kazakhstan Automobile Union (KAU): “At the start of 2025, dealers maintained their strong customer-centric approach. Many continued to offer special promotions and a wide range of affordable auto financing programs. Another key trend was the steady flow of investments into developing and expanding dealership networks. This reflects both the record-breaking sales performance of 2024 and the ambitions of the companies themselves. According to dealer networks, most market players plan to focus this year on improving customer service and staff training due to rising competition. Together with financial institutions, they are also exploring new tools and financing mechanisms that have proven effective in global car markets. All these efforts serve one common goal - to renew the country’s vehicle fleet.”
Hyundai topped the list of best-selling brands in January with 3,203 units sold (+2.8% compared to January 2024). Chevrolet followed with 1,191 vehicles sold (+48.3%). Kia ranked third with 980 units (-20.4%), while Chery placed fourth with 709 units (-34.4%). For the first time, Geely entered the Top 5 with 660 vehicles sold (+104.3%).
