KAZAKHSTAN’S AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY: OVERVIEW OF THE FIRST HALF OF 2025

NEW CAR SALES INCREASED BY 26.2% IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2025

16 July
  • The top 5 car brands in June: Hyundai, Chevrolet, Kia, Jetour, Chery

According to data from the Kazakhstan Automobile Union (KAU), 19,402 new passenger cars and commercial vehicles were sold in June 2025 — a 16.2% increase compared to June of the previous year. In total, official dealerships sold 104,869 vehicles over the first six months of the year, up 26.2% from the same period in 2024 (83,092 units).

Anar Makasheva, President of the Kazakhstan Automobile Union (KAU): “For the past four months, monthly new car sales have consistently remained at around 19,000 units — a result largely driven by improved access to new vehicles. This positive dynamic is also influencing the used car market. Many car owners in Kazakhstan who had never considered buying a new vehicle are now turning to official dealerships, encouraged by attractive financing programs. According to our forecasts, this upward trend is likely to continue in the coming months. In general, record-breaking sales mean more than just numbers — they reflect fleet renewal, environmental improvements, and the fulfillment of a dream for tens of thousands of people across Kazakhstan to own a brand-new car.”

The top 10 best-selling brands in June were led once again by Hyundai, with 4,116 units sold (+17.2% compared to June 2024).
