According to the Bureau of National Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in August 2025, 12,944 units of various wheeled were produced in Kazakhstan with a total value of 178.2 billion KZT, compared to 10,785 units and 140.3 billion KZT in August of the previous year (+20%).

In total, during the first eight months of 2025, 96,203 units of vehicles were manufactured with a total value of 1.34 trillion KZT. Compared to January–August 2024, production volumes increased by 17.3%. The industry’s share in the country’s mechanical engineering sector reached 40.6%.

“The automotive industry continues to grow, and today nine manufacturers are already operating in the sector. In Almaty, the multi-brand plant Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan (AMMKZ) has started operations, producing Changan, Chery, Haval, and Tank vehicles using semi-knockdown assembly. The first batch of cars has already rolled off the production line, opening up new opportunities for technological development and workforce training in the industry. The launch of the new enterprise will allow distributors to reduce car prices by an average of 7% to 15%. The plant features robotic and automated welding, painting, and body assembly workshops. Currently, 1,700 out of the planned 3,600 employees have been hired. All this confirms that the domestic automotive industry is becoming more competitive, with strong potential for further growth and market consolidation.”

According to the Kazakhstan Automobile Union (KAU), in the eight months of 2025, 53,376 units were produced in Kostanay (Allur) (+10.6%) 35,646 units of passenger and commercial vehicles in Almaty (Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan, Hyundai Trans Almaty) (+37.5%). 2,764 units of commercial vehicles in Semey (SemAZ, Daewoo Bus Kazakhstan) (-23.4%). 1,142 units in Karaganda region (QazTehna) (+30.4%), 817 units of commercial vehicles in Kokshetau (KAMAZ Engineering) (+24.4%), and 2,458 units by other manufactures.

The top five most popular brands in January-August 2025 (including export) were Hyundai (35,197 units), Chevrolet (19,012 units), Kia (17,278 units), Jetour (8,606 units) and Jac (6,454 units). By models, the largest production volumes were recovered for Chevrolet Cobalt (15,753 units), Hyundai Tucson (14,105 units), Kia Sportage (8,802 units), Hyudai Elantra (5,387 units) and Hyundai Mufasa (5,284 units)
