SALES OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES AND HYBRIDS IN KAZAKHSTAN INCREASED MORE THAN FOURFOLD

NEW CAR SALES IN KAZAKHSTAN: FIRST QUARTER RESULTS

14 April
  • March Top 5: Hyundai, Kia, Chevrolet, Changan, Chery

According to the “Kazakhstan Automobile Union” (KAU), in March 2026, official dealers in Kazakhstan sold 17,099 new passenger and commercial vehicles, which is 12.9% less than in March last year. In the first three months, 44,757 vehicles were sold, which is 4.5% less than in the same period last year.

Anar MAKASHEVA, President of KAU: “Despite a slight year-on-year decline in sales, the market is showing signs of stabilization after a weak February. Given this trend, adjustments to vehicle supplies are inevitable. At the same time, we are seeing an active redistribution of market shares: the positions of certain brands are strengthening, which once again confirms the high level of competition and trust in the products of domestic manufacturers. Meanwhile, the second quarter, which is traditionally one of the key periods in terms of consumer activity, will allow for a more objective assessment of market dynamics and a forecast for the year.”

Hyundai retained first place in the Top 10 best-selling brands in March with 3,192 units sold, down 28.3% compared to March last year. Kia ranked second with 2,317 vehicles sold, up 9.3%.
