According to the Kazakhstan Automobile Union (KAU), in the first quarter of 2026 Kazakhstan produced 45,260 units of equipment, including vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers, which is 36.8% more than in the same period last year. In March 2026, 17,462 units of equipment were produced, up 42.8% compared to March 2025 and 19.9% more than in February of this year.

Anar MAKASHEVA, President of KAU: “At the end of the first three months, Kazakhstan’s automotive industry is demonstrating steady growth. The strong momentum maintained in March confirms the positive trends in the sector. Significant growth has also been recorded in the auto components segment. Over three months, the output of automotive parts and accessories reached 259.8 billion tenge, increasing fourfold compared to the same period last year. Manufacturers will continue to accelerate in this segment.”

Production volume in January–March 2026 amounted to 563.9 billion tenge, which is 27.5% higher than a year earlier. The share of automotive manufacturing in the structure of mechanical engineering reached 43.1% in the first quarter, compared to 39.7% a year earlier.

In the first three months of 2026, Kazakhstan’s enterprises produced 42,115 passenger cars, which is 37.9% more than a year earlier. In addition, truck production reached 1,380 units (+16.7%), bus production totaled 750 units (+73.2%), and trailer and semi-trailer production amounted to 904 units (+21%). At the same time, output of special and specialized vehicles fell to 111 units.

In January–March 2026, the Allur plant in Kostanay produced 14,234 vehicles. Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan (AMMKZ) in Almaty produced 12,778 units of equipment during the reporting period. Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan in Almaty ranked third with 10,755 units. The new Kia Qazaqstan plant in Kostanay produced 4,640 vehicles. QazTehna (Saran, Karaganda Region) produced 806 units of equipment. In Semey, SemAZ manufactured 627 trucks. Hyundai Trans Almaty (Almaty) accounted for 196 units of commercial vehicles. Daewoo Bus Kazakhstan (Semey) produced 148 units. In Kokshetau, KAMAZ-Engineering produced 135 units of commercial vehicles.

The top ten most popular brands manufactured in Kazakhstan in January–March 2026 were: Hyundai (10,725 units), Chevrolet (8,341 units), Kia (5,084 units), Changan (4,102 units), Haval (4,099 units), Chery (3,744 units), Jetour (2,250 units), Geely Galaxy (1,388 units), Jac (979 units), and Tank (833 units).
